Recording is a unique process. The track is written and the piano parts are sketched out and recorded before everything else is entirely digitally programmed. Here, sampling is taken several steps beyond what is usually expected of the technique.
Recorded sax lines are pitch and length shifted until they have been warped into a brand new sound specific to the notation written for the track.
The drum patterns are sequenced from a large library of single-hit samples collected over the last 5 or so years and the whole track at times finds itself injected with ambient and electronic moments which are processed digitally.
