Somnambulist Quintet is run by British musician Darren Johnson.
Starting in Leeds in 2006, over the years Somnambulist Quintet has transformed from bedroom downtempo music with jazz tinges into a full blown jazz sound. The music itself is noticably dark and often tense, taking unpredictable twists and turns as each piece evolves in a novel approach to compositional structure.

Earlier music was heavily reliant on organs to create a warm and focussed texture but in the last year or so the organ has been pushed aside in favour of the piano.
